Finding Love

As soon as the bells clanged signalling the end of the legislative day, MPPs and staff scrubbed up and stampeded for the exits, all heading in the same direction -- a reception for Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at the posh Carlu. Criticism of the monarchy is mostly based on a lack of knowledge. We simply don't teach our children the fundamentals of parliamentary democracy and the role of the constitutional monarch.  

Broadway favorite, "Fiddler on the Roof," is on stage in Woodside this weekend and next as the Woodside Community Theatre presents its annual production. The play opened Friday, Nov. 6, at the Performing Arts Center at Woodside High School. Remaining show times are 7:30 p.m.  

Is it because of that controversial scene where the player acts out a terrorist attack? Nope. It's because the game's PC version uses Steamworks, a software platform for multiplayer match creation, downloadable content and anti-piracy measures. Direct2Drive, Impulse and GamersGate say they oppose the forced installation of third-party software on players' computers (Direct2Drive calls Steamworks "a Trojan Horse"), and so they are sitting out on the biggest computer game of 2009.  

Burgeoning New England MMA promotion Cage Fighting Xtreme will hold Rumble in the Jungle II at the Plymouth Jungle Plex on Nov. 14, arguably the promotion's most highly anticipated card to date. Five amateur and 14 professional fights will take place, showcasing such local favorites as Greg Mendes, Steve Dunn, Chris Bagge, and Brett O'Teri. But the two biggest fights will feature some of the night's biggest men, as Josh Diekmann takes on Christian Morecraft, and Lee Beane battles Josh Watson. ...

A ge has been kind to Chaim Topol. At 74, the venerable Israel i actor is leaner, subtler and more gently imposing than ever. He's been periodically playing the role of Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof" - onstage and in the 1971 film - since he was a much younger man.  

KATE Price and Peter Andre could be reunited by Christmas – brought together by her critically-ill son Harvey. The couple forgot all about their bitter love-split as they spent an emotional two hours at the boy's hospital bedside. And the pair, who have been at war since parting six months ago, tenderly supported each other throughout the vigil.

for The Salisbury Post"The Boy Friend" is coming to Catawba College Nov. 12-15 in Hedrick Little Theater on campus. Written by Sandy Wilson, the musical opened on Broadway in 1954. Julie Andrews starred as the original Polly and years later made her directorial debut when the show took its first national tour.  

Known for his gripping dramas, renowned American playwright Tennessee Williams has also produced rousing comedies that are not often performed. The Thurmont Thespians will bring one such classic to life when they take on "The Rose Tattoo," a love story filled with Sicilian dialect and bittersweet comedic moments. "It's not often done, but I think it will play well," said director Spencer Watson.  

What started as a modification of Warcraft III by a group of fans has turned into an ambitious free-to-play PC strategy title packed with a surprising amount of tactics in an easy to pick-up-and-play package. In League of Legends you take on the role of a summoner, calling forth a champion that you control in Warcraft-esque skirmishes as you work to tear down defensive positions and destroy the enemy nexus. Working with other player-controlled champions, the game is based on cooperation and collaboration, with all of the micro-managing thrown out the window.
